Southwest Colorado in the mountains near Durango, Silverton, Ouray and Telleride offer some of the best fall colors in dramatic landscapes in North America. , Jeff will get you to the best locations (including his "secret" locations) at the best times so that you will be able to make the most of this special time of the year. Join your experienced guide, Jeff Jessing, on a expedition to photograph mountains, groves of aspens, canyons, forests, rivers and waterfalls You can be confident that Jeff, as a resident of Southwestern Colorado, will provide you with the photo trip of a lifetime.
This region in September/October typically delivers the best in scenery, wildlife opportunities, fair weather, and fall colors. The days are typically in the 50º F to 70º F range (depending on the elevation) and with cooler evenings. Jeff will get you to the best locations at the right times to maximize the drama in the scenes. You will walk away from this trip with an unforgettable photo adventure.
Many of the locations are roadside or require a short hike to deliver us to extraordinary locations. As is true for all of Jeff's tours, you can not only expect to have photographic opportunities be maximized but you will also get significant time with learning Jeff's post-processing techniques. - Tuesday, September 25: Meet in Durango, CO. Sunrise and morning photography in the Durango area. Early afternoon digital darkroom and crtique session. Afternoon and sunset photography in the Durango area. Spend the night in Durango.
- Wednesday, September 26: Sunrise and morning pictures in the Durango area. Early afternoon digital darkroom session. Afternoon and sunset photography in the Silverton area. Spend the night in Ouray.
- Thursday, September 27: Sunrise and morning pictures in the Mt. Sneffels area. Early afternoon digital darkroom session. Afternoon and sunset pictures in the Ouray area. Spend the night in Ouray.
- Friday, September 28: Sunrise and morning pictures near Ouray. Early afternoon digital darkroom and critique session. Afternoon and sunset pictures in the Telluride area. Spend the night in Telluride.
- Saturday, September 29: Sunrise and morning pictures in the Telluride area. Afternoon and sunset pictures in the Durango area. Spend the night in Telluride.
- Sunday, September 30: Sunrise and morning pictures in the Telluride/Rico area. Tour ends at 11am.
