Chaco was the hub of the prehistoric Four Corners area from AD 850 to 1250.. The Chacoan people combined their understanding of astronomical alignments and engineering to construct distinctive multilevel building throughout the canyon. This unique photo tour will allow you to photograph the ancient ruins of Chaco as well as the surrounding landscape. As a bonus, two evenings will be spent photographing at night so you can learn some of Jeff's nighttime techniques. Chaco has one of the darkest skies in the lower 48 and this tour is timed during the darkness of a new moon.
Lodging can be found about a hours drive away in Bloomfield, NM. Alternatively, you can opt to camp (as Jeff will) at the developed campsite found near the entrance to the park. The campsite as restroom with running water. We will meet each morning at the campground and then proceed into the park for our photography.
Many of the locations are roadside or require a short walk to deliver us to extraordinary locations. As is true for all of Jeff's tours, you can not only expect to have photographic opportunities be maximized but you will also get significant time with learning Jeff's post-processing techniques.
*Tentative - I keep the itinerary very flexible so that I can put you in the best locations
