Springtime in the Palouse is best characterized by the intense green of the wheat covered rolling hills of Eastern Washington. Unique and amazing rolling hills, textures and patterns of this beautiful countryside, old barns and farm equipment make intriguing subjects for your weeklong photo exploration of the Palouse. The numerous buttes that rise above the surrounding farmland provide grand vistas of beautiful countryside (as seen in the above photograph that was taken from Steptoe Butte). The gentle rolling hills dotted with trees and old farms will provide you will endless photographic opportunities, all under the guidance of your experienced tour leader. When the opportunity arises we will photograph the abundant bird and wildlife. During the springtime and early summer you can expect to encounter colorful fields of wildflowers.
The Palouse in June delivers the best in scenery and weather. The days are typically in the mid 70º F with little chance of precipitation. The wheat fields are intensely green and the wildflowers are abundant. Jeff will get you to the best locations at the right times to maximize your photographic potential. You will walk away from this trip with an unforgettable photo adventure.
Most of the locations are roadside or require a very short walk to deliver us to photography rich locations. As is true for all of Jeff's tours, you can not only expect to have photographic opportunities be maximized but you will also get significant time with learning Jeff's post-processing techniques. With the exception of the first night in Spokane, we will stay the entire week lodged in one location so unpacking and packing will be unnecessary. Come join Jeff for a trip of a lifetime photographing the a countryside that is as photographically unique as its natural history.
