Oregon Waterfalls and Opal Creek Wilderness

"The best of Oregon's famous waterfalls and old growth forests"

June 20-26, 2010

The abundance of spectacular waterfalls and dense old growth forests in the Northwest region of Oregon is unparalleled within North America. Spend a week exploring and photographing this lush and awe inspiring region led by experienced photographer and guide, Jeff Jessing. The focus this tour will be to photograph a large number of diverse waterfalls, rivers, and old growth forests. Many of the waterfalls are in excess of 100 feet tall and are located in pristine, natural environments. Your photographic possibilities will also include photographing Mt. Hood and the unique historical area of the old mining town of Jawbone Flats remotely located in the Opal Creek Wilderness. Additionally, the unusual ecology of this area will give you the option to photograph rare flora and fauna.

Northwest Oregon in June delivers the best in water-flow, green scenery, wildlife opportunities, fair weather, and wildflowers.  The days are typically in the 60º F to 80º F range. Jeff will get you to the best locations at the right times to maximize the drama in the scenes.  You will walk away from this trip with an unforgettable photo adventure.

Many of the locations are roadside or require a short hike to deliver us to extraordinary locations. An easy 1.5 hour hike is required to access Jawbone Flats. However, an equipment and luggage shuttle transports your necessities to and from the cabin in Jawbone. As is true for all of Jeff's tours, you can not only expect to have photographic opportunities be maximized but you will also get significant time with learning Jeff's post-processing techniques. Come join Jeff for this most unique photography tour and give yourself an adventure you will not soon forget.
